Snow is pretty, but it is completely impractical for fashionistas like myself. Can I wear my cute heels in the snow? Nope. Can I wear my leather boots in the snow? If I want them to get ruined…not to mention you have to wear a puffy Winter coat everywhere you go. It’s a tad ridiculous, if you ask me. Well luckily, this cute velvet turtleneck I found at Winners is doing a great job keeping me warm these days…

There’s nothing better than heading out to conquer the day in comfy clothing. I am not a huge wearer of sweatpants or track suits – I turn more to sweaters, stretchy jeans and big cozy scarves and this velvet knit sweater is one of my favourites. Really any knit turtleneck is the perfect piece for these cold days we have been getting lately. My go-to jeans are from Old Navy. Why? Mainly because I am short. They come in ‘short’…which is great for me! To put a little spunk in my step, I laced up these leopard booties! They have rubber tread, are not too high and are actually perfect!
I am doing so well with these New Year’s resolutions! Better outfit posts, posting every weekday…I’m on fire (if I do say so myself…). Keep following along for more things to come, and hopefully more collaborations!
What are you thoughts on a good turtleneck? Let me know in the comments below…
It has only been ONE WEEK since I moved back to school (I know, I said that yesterday…), but can you believe how slow the new year is moving? I don’t know if it is because I am totally on track with my resolutions (yay me!), or if it’s because it’s suddenly dropped in temperature. Either way, these last seven days have felt more like seven months!

I picked this French Connection sweater up at Winners over the holidays. I’m sure glad I did now that we have this chilly weather (and by “chilly”, I mean freezing), I need something cozy! Red is always a nice colour for the Winter season because it livens things up (enough with the white and black!!). These dress pants are super comfortable (also from Winners…can you see a trend here?) which I picked up to wear to Christmas lunch with the family!! These boots are really old, but shearling trim never goes out of style!
Now that the holidays are over and school is back in full swing, I am making sure that I continue on a great routine. Being organized is a better way to live, if you ask me. I am on track with all of my resolutions, staying organized, eating moderately better than I was in 2015, and (so far) on top of my studies!
Can it get any better than that?
Cheers to the New Year!
As the weeks get busier and as I approach finals season, it’s getting harder and harder to shoot these details…so today, I am sharing a more neutral work look that I sported this past Summer. Working downtown is super fun – being in a professional setting requires professional clothing and there is nothing more fun than dressing up every day and looking amazing
This simple outfit was just that – completely simple. When in a professional setting, there shouldn’t be too much bling (so to speak) and although colours are awesome, sometimes the best choice is to go for a low-key colour palette and add a pop of colour. Low-key neutrals are great for the professional world, but who says you can’t add a little colour?
These shoes are great. Being a student, I have to try to keep costs down and heels can get really expensive. For a cute pair of coloured heels that are only for the summer (and mainly just for work), these Comfort Plus shoes are the ideal choice. Plus, how cute is the colour? Against the neutral tones, black and white, this livens the look right up. Plus, just how the brand states – they are so comfortable!!

It’s interesting to see how style can evolve over time depending on where you are, where you work, and what you like! My style has certainly changed over the years and a neutral look like this is one of my favourites these days! Comfortable and affordable style is my thing, and this is a chic look that is easy to put together (and appropriate) for the workplace!
When you have a full week off, you think of fun and crazy things to do, and one of those fun things is a random photo shoot on the back roads. My family loooves going for drives and in the Fall it is such a pretty scenery! So why not snap some outfit details against a beautiful Fall backdrop? I have to say, my sister is a champ…she puts up with so much with my outfit photo shoots, and she does such a spectacular job (love you Heather!!).
It was incredibly windy during the details shoot we did yesterday, and being my creative self, I thought it would be cool to throw leaves in the air for the shot…well, it sort of worked?

Heading into the Fall season, I was on the hunt for an olive green poncho. Well this poncho is even better! It has just enough detail in the knit pattern that it becomes the focus of the look, yet it is now overshadowing of any other piece in the outfit! Plus, it kept me very warm on this windy, chilly day. Accenting with leopard print is always a good idea, and with earthy tones especially! This doctor’s bag is from mark. by Avon (a few years ago) and it is just lovely. It is great quality, cute and very functional!
It is starting to look like we will be getting colder and colder weather from this point on, which is awesome for all of my sweaters because they will be worn A LOT more often! I have a bit of an addiction to buying sweaters (especially sweaters from J.Crew)…
Enjoy and have a nice day!
This little horse came right up to my sister and I when we were taking shots and wanted to be in the shot…so we let him! What a nice, little surprise!
I have been a regular shopper at Winners for a while now, and am always on the hunt for a great deal. This week, while flipping through the racks, I fell in love with the most amazing slip skirt ever. It has now ranked in my top favourite looks that I have worn so far. Not only did I find this printed slip skirt, I also found this cute woven tote that makes the perfect weekend bag.
I love the detail in the skirt. The white palm leaves with the blue backing really makes it a fun wear for outside or lounging by the pool. It kind of reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer – fun and summery prints. When I first grabbed this skirt off the rack, I thought it was a maxi skirt (which I got excited for…because I don’t have any printed maxis)…little did I know until I looked more closely, that it has a slip right up one side! Perfect and airy for a summer day!
Now, I have to dedicate this portion of today’s post to this fun tote. I have always liked the look of woven straw accessories, but it’s pretty hard to find one that has a design on it as well. Well, as my luck would have it, this tote was right in front of me as I strolled the isles of Winners on Friday night.
It’s not just any woven bag. It has the perfect, subtle details that makes the overall look adorable. You never know what you are going to find at Winners, and in looking for this bag online (just to find out who makes it), I found out that you can get the exact bag that I’ve styled at Kohl’s…and, even better, it’s on sale right now!
This skirt is pretty lengthy, and being the short girl that I am, I needed to boost my height a bit. And what better way to do it, than with these to-die-for Le Chateau wedges? I am pretty obsessed with them right now, especially because I had no idea Le Chateau even sold shoes!! A pretty great surprise, if you ask me!
Well that’s my look of the weekend, and my favourite look at that!! (went a little crazy with the photos…oops!)
