We are finally approaching summer and I am so glad. Why? Summer whites! I am totally in love with wearing white pants, white blazers, shoes, tops! The white colour palette for the seasons is beautiful – you can use it as a pop, you can do a monochrome look, you can use it to accessorize!

I picked this white blazer up a couple of years ago, and it has been my summer staple ever since. It brightens the entire look. I went with a coloured top underneath that had traces of white in the pattern to make the blazer pop even more. This was more of a casual look, so cropped jeans was the way to go.
Finally, I went the more accessory-less route because of how strong the pattern is in the top. I matched the bag to the shoes in an off neutral colour to not take away from the focal point of the outfit.
Mother’s Day was this past Sunday and I got to share the day with my whole family, including my mother and Grandmother! It was such a lovely day, the sun was shining and I couldn’t have asked for a better time spent with my family.
From time to time, I like putting a more professional spin on my looks, regardless if I need to look professional or not. Nude tones are really in right now and that’s what inspired me to assemble this semi-professional, cute nude look! Obviously, the nude coloured jacket is the focal point of this look…but the neutral accessories just build it up!

I am definitely a fan of the matchy-match type outfits. That is why I matched the heels and tote to the blazer. It makes for a very uniform looks, and what better a colour to highlight than this beautiful tone. With any monochrome look, you either want to go full force with the tones, or break it up a bit.
This striped black and white tee was the perfect buffer to all the neutral tones in the look. Throwing a pattern amongst a monochrome look is always a good idea, and I particularly love stripes, so this was the perfect option.
I am also really loving boyfriend jeans these days. I used to be totally against the ripped trend, but it has definitely grown on me. Boyfriend jeans add an element of edge to the look!
One of the best things about this period between Spring and Summer is the cool temperatures. It’s not so hot that you’re sweating bullets, but it’s not too cold that you have to wear layers upon layers! A casual jean jacket over a shift dress is the perfect transition look for this in between period.

Pairing a shift dress with a jean jacket is the perfect look for any casual occasion. I like sporting this for a fun Saturday running errands, or even a get together with friends! What I did with this look specifically is alter it by switching out the shoes\.
Canvas sneakers take the look down a notch and although some may think sneakers and dresses don’t pair well together…I think this is a particularly good looking ensemble! This outfit would work well with any footwear really. My friend wore some Vessi footwear with a similar outfit and she looked great! Taking this look up a level, add a fun and bright pair of heels! It escalates the look and takes it from running errands to party hardy!
Pearls and Polkadots is in for a few changes coming up, so make sure you come back at the end of this week to read about the changes and a fun announcement!

Is anyone pumped that warmer weather is becoming more permanent these days? I feel like this cold season has dragged on forever and ever! Well it certainly wasn’t cold when I received this little number in the mail. Today, I am wearing the chiffon beaded maxi dress by Du North Designs. Maxi dresses are an essential piece for the summer season and this one is simply perfect!
Du North Designs is an Alberta based company that sells affordable and chic women’s clothing. They specialize in leggings, but also offer a wide variety of patterned pieces in tops, leggings, dresses and skirts! In addition to women’s clothing, Du North also sells maternity and children’s clothing – definitely worth checking out!
Nude tones are really in right now and Du North is completely falling in line with that trend with this darker nude shade in the chiffon maxi. If you aren’t completely on board with the neutral tones, this is the perfect maxi for you, because it is not as neutral as it could be. It is a darker shade, and therefore is a lot more flattering with multiple skin tones.
Although I didn’t use any accessories to upstage the look, I paired the chiffon maxi with a marvelous floppy felt hat in a neutral beige from mark. by Avon and a blush pink handbag from Aldo in order to complete my super summery look!

I think I am finally getting back into my regular blogging routine and now that school is over, I seem to have all the time in the world to dedicate to fashion (not the worst thing in the world, that’s for sure!). My favourite thing about summer fashion probably has to be maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are absolutely essential for the hot summer weather, and Pink Blush has some great pieces that you won’t be able to resist!!
Pink Blush is an online women’s boutique that is based on cute dresses, beautiful patterns and to-die-for styles! Definitely some must have items that I certainly cannot resist.
When it comes to my summer wardrobe, I like lots of colour!! Pink Blush has tons of cute women’s clothing that will fit right into the fun and trendy woman’s closet! What I love about this Royal Crochet Top Paisley Maxi Dress (maternity available as well) is the halter back crochet top! I am SO into the crochet trend right now, that this piece completely stood out to me!
Rocking a maxi dress is super easy because it is automatically the focal point of the look! All you really need to do is coordinate some accessories that highlight the traits of the dress. I chose to bring out the maroon and purple colours that are included in the pattern on the bottom skirt of the maxi. Even though maroon and purple don’t mesh completely, the are tied together in the pattern of the maxi dress.
Overall, I am pretty much in love with this shop. It’s affordable, there is a wide variety of clothes for every woman, and it’s SO CUTE! With many online boutiques based out of the U.S., being in Canada, you need to pay double in shipping, but Pink Blush offers shipping to Canada for just $9.99 (and free shipping to the U.S.).
You can shop Pink Blush yourself by heading over here – you will not regret it!!
Loving it yet? Oh trust me you will…
