PRETTY GARDEN ESCAPE

Have you ever owned that one piece of clothing that just makes you feel pretty? It could be the simplest of items, but when you put it on you feel like a bright star. In my opinion, your whole wardrobe should make you feel that way! However, having those key staples in your closet, that you know you can throw on and feel like a princess is super important.

Kimono: c/o Pink Blush / Bodysuit: Forever 21 / Shorts: Charlotte Russe / Flip Flops: Old Navy

Summer is a time to get out and experiment with your fashion choices. I mean, you can always experiment (no matter the season), but spring/summer lines are full of unique patterns and prints to play with. My go-to summer pattern is a cute floral (as you can probably tell). I love how girly floral patterns can be, and how well they compliment solids (and even other prints as well!).

This particular pattern is one I fell in love with when I saw it on Pink Blush. I have a tendency to be drawn to wearing darker colours (there is a lot of dark in my wardrobe). When I chose it, I immediately pictured it in a fall ensemble. Therefore, I was a tad worried about how I would fashion it for this season. However, as soon as I unboxed it, I realized this is a total summer staple.

When the light catches this kimono, the reds and pinks are illuminated – almost eliminating the dark tone to it immediately. It’s mesmerizing (in my opinion), when it’s blowing in the wind and catching the sun rays – all the more reason to wear it over and over again.

This kimono speaks for itself. When putting this look together, I focused on pairing with items that elevated the kimono. I went for a light denim short because it doesn’t clash with the colours in the piece. The black bodysuit that I put underneath the kimono was primarily to go with the dark tone (I didn’t know how the reds and pinks would jump out in the light).

I feel pretty in Pink Blush. You should too.

BRIGHT FLORALS

Dressing up is one of my passions. I consider fashion to be such an area of creativity. It’s a way to express how you’re feeling and what you love the most. One of the things that I love most about this time of year is how bright and colourful fashion becomes. The explosions of florals and bright colours are unreal and there is nothing better than throwing them all together in the same look!

Dress: c/o Pink Blush / Shoes: Le Chateau / Sunglasses: ILYMIX

With summer quickly approaching, I have been gathering up all of my pretty sundresses and making decisions on which to clear out for good and which to hold on to (I do this every year). I love new things (as most fashionistas do), and since I just had to have this bright floral, it was time to make some room in the closet.

Pink Blush is a trendy online boutique that I came across roughly a year ago. I am never disappointed with the packages that show up on my doorstep from them – especially this dress that arrived last week. Florals are a summer staple for me, and bright florals are even better! What screams summer than an eye-popping colour and big, beautiful flowers?!

Dresses in the summer time are such an easy outfit to coordinate. All I had to do was find the perfect pair of shoes and I was golden. Jewelry is also an option, however with high mock necklines, I tend to steer clear of the bling (also…bling + florals may look a tad busy). You really can’t go wrong with this neckline either. I tend to burn to a crisp in the summertime, so for a day out in the sun, this type of neck keeps my fair skin nice and protected.

I should mention that when you hop over to Pink Blush‘s online boutique, you will see a lot of maternity wear. Don’t be fooled in thinking that it is primarily a maternity boutique – that’s just part of the website. Although the maternity clothing is super, cute, they also have pages of cute clothing for women who are not pregnant (like me).

If you are a highly feminine, pretty, girly girl who loves dainty patterns and vibrant colours – this is definitely the boutique for you. I can never get enough of it (and as a side note: the delivery time is not too shabby for delivering to Canada).

I fell in love with Pink Blush the moment I clicked over, will you?

BIKINI SEASON

The season that everybody awaits is almost here. Summer is coming in strong and quickly, but are you as prepared as you need to be? Last year, I went on a massive hunt to find the best swimsuits I could for my move to Florida. However, I shied away from the bikini because…well, many ladies would understand why.

This year, however, I am breaking out a new look and I am on another hunt. Except this time, I am hunting down the perfect bikini. These days, finding a swimsuit is as easy as clicking a button…and well, that’s exactly what you have to do! Although, sometimes it can be hard to find a trusted site that will deliver exactly what you see.

Zaful has been my handy style site for about 6 months now, and I have been overjoyed with the products I have received. That is why I have done a little couch shopping this evening, and ultimately put together a wishlist for this upcoming bikini season. Now, I should warn you…I have not tested out the product. This is sight unseen. In no way have I actually tried the stocked collection that Zaful is offering – buyer beware.

Okay, hold on…it seems as if some monokinis and one pieces snuck their way onto this wishlist. I guess I will leave them because they are super cute (my favourite? Probably this palm print one piece). You really can’t have too many swimsuits, can you?

It will only be a matter a time before I get my hands on one of these amazing pieces…so in that case stay tuned

Peace out!

Feeling the Ombre w/ Du North Designs

As I jump into a new school year, I am kicking off a new routine. It’s time to say good bye to the beach towels and say hello to textbooks, the library and studying. However, one benefit of on campus life? Comfortable clothing. I love my stylish wardrobe, but sometimes I need to dress down in leggings and an over-sized sweater.

The typical black leggings are always good to have on hand, but in order to keep it fun and mix it up, bright leggings are the way to go. I keep seeing bright leggings all over the place, and I can’t help but incorporating them into my looks.

Leggings have been a crucial part of every girl’s wardrobe and there is one main reason. Leggings are extremely versatile. Whether you wear them to work out, to bed, or out when running errands, they are the best. I personally sport my leggings when I am studying, or need to be comfortable.

Du North is a go-to place for fun and stylish leggings. There are all kinds of patterns and colours to choose from and they are at an extremely affordable price (which is amazing!). These ombre leggings are one of my favourite pairs right now. Mainly because of the natural fade and the bright coral colour.

Not only can you work out in these leggings, they are great for lounging in as well, which is what I primarily use them for (shhh, don’t tell anyone).

School is in full swing and I am so ready for the leaves to start changing. Get ready for these fall looks…

Modern Mermaid w/ Du North Design

There is nothing I love more than a casual graphic tank. They are cool, casual and so in style right now. We all love the classic sayings, but what about something that really hits down in your true passion? What am I talking about? Mermaids, of course!

Ever want to be a mermaid? I always did…in fact, I identified with being a mermaid – especially when I was splashing around in the pool. This post is seeming pretty weird at this point…isn’t it? Well it’s not once you scroll down and see the awesome mermaid tank that I am going on about…

Tank Top: c/o Du North Designs / Jean Shorts: Old Navy / Sneakers: Keds

Okay, it’s time to talk fashion. You can’t always be strutting your stuff in a cashmere sweater and high heels. Sometimes, you have to dress down. My go-to when dressing down for a day in the park is a tank top and jean shorts, complete with a cute pair of kicks.

This is a really simple look that you can thrown on and be comfortable in! Plus, who doesn’t identify with being a mermaid? Du North Designs has all kinds of fun tees and tanks in addition to plenty of fun leggings and maxis for your style needs.

Taking this fun tank into the fall season will be great – it’s not too short and would look great with an over-sized sweater and leggings! The leaves are beginning to change up here and fall is quickly approaching, so pretty much every look I throw on, I think of the ways it can be transitional.

Can I completely change over my wardrobe to fall yet? Nope…but the day is coming soon and I cannot wait!! I always get excited when Du North shows up on my doorstep! I would definitely recommend grabbing a few cute tanks for your transition-to-fall needs!
