Easter Pastels

March is coming to a close, but we are not finished with it yet! We still have one of the best Spring holidays to celebrate and that is Easter! Whether you are having a big Easter dinner with family, going on a hunt for Easter eggs, or sleeping the day away and enjoying the long weekend…there is always the opportunity to look cute!

Easter calls for Spring pastels, light colours and pretty ensembles…so today I have put together a little outfit inspo so that you aren’t completely stuck this weekend on what to wear…

The Pastel Midi

I am really loving the midi dress/skirt look these days! It is so pretty and in a fun pastel colour like this pink, it’s beautiful. I like to dress up for fun family functions, so this midi dress paired with these gorgeous lace up nude heels…probably one of my favourite outfit inspos ever.

Cool and Casual Pastel Tones

Off the shoulder tops are really in right now. I even broke down and purchased a couple myself! Being that we are into Spring and that the snow is melting, this is the perfect top for a cool and casual Easter celebration! You can do this with a flat shoe or a heel (for more glam) – the pops of pink are what make the look!

Pretty Pastel Yellow

Yellow has always been an intriguing colour to me. I don’t typically go for it, but I think it’s a really fun colour for Spring – especially for Easter. I chose to keep the look really light with the white accents, even throwing in some pink toned earrings to compliment the warmer tones in the ensemble!

Pastels are amazing to play around with. I love to tone them down or make them pop with an accent colour! Spring is the time to be fun and out there with your fashion – try new things and add new pieces to your wardrobe that you can mix and match with!

What’s your favourite pastel and are you buying into the trend this season? Happy Easter lovelies!

Plaid on Plaid Pattern Mixing

I love trying new fads and trends when looking in to my wardrobe. Last week, I combined two patterns of the same kind – plaid on plaid. I wore an obnoxiously loud red, plaid tunic from Old Navy and then threw on a warm and cozy blanket scarf. This look can really work with any transition season – Spring or Fall, in my opinion!

When combining two types of pattern, you want to make sure they are not completely identical. Change it up in some kind of way – either choose two colours that pair well together, like red with tan – both compliment each other well and one works as a neutral. Another difference you can play with is the size of the pattern. If you have a really large and loud pattern, like big flowers, pair it with a smaller print so that you don’t have two large patterns competing with one another.

That’s my fashion blurb for the day – more pattern mixing to come! Here is my rendition of the outfit above…

Spring Picks with Romwe

With Spring rolling in quickly, I am on the hunt for only the best Spring picks! I love visiting my favourite online boutiques where I can find the best items and Romwe is one of those boutiques that have some essential picks for this season! Today, I am going to show you some of my favourite pieces from the latest collection released by Romwe.

Spring Picks with Romwe - Pearls and Polkadots

All of these styles can be found at Romwe.

This season is full of neutrals, pops of colour and different textures. I am loving the lace, suede and cotton fabrics that are used throughout this season’s collection! Below, I assembled some key looks and potential outfit inspiration for this season – all from the Romwe boutique!

Cool and Collected

This look is so simple to recreate. All of these pieces are essentials in my opinion for Spring and Summer. My favourite piece out of this look is the powder blue spaghetti strap knit cami top. This is the perfect colour for the warmer seasons and the knit makes for a great transition fabric when taking it from Spring to Summer! Spring Picks with Romwe - Pearls and Polkadots

Running Errands

Who says you can’t look cute while running to the grocery store? This look is for those times when you don’t have the time to put together a glam outfit. This self tie dolman dress is relaxed but has a little flare at the waist for style. I also love the fringed bag – fringe is really coming back in as we move into the Coachella season and I am a big fan!

Pretty in Floral

How can you not love the pattern used in this skirt? Cherry blossoms are my favourite type of floral right now – especially for Spring. I chose to pair this floral pleated white skirt with the powder blue knit cami top because of the contrast! I think that pink and blue play really well off one another, and the pink flowers used throughout the pattern in the skirt just make the blue pop even more!

Strawberries in the Sun

Printed denim screams vintage to me. It looks so fun and cute, and the strawberries on this pair of denim shorts especially are my fave. I chose to pair the denim shorts with a textured top, choosing the lace jacquard white blouse. I think that the lace patterned flowers are really appropriate for Spring and Summer and play well off the strawberry pattern we see on the shorts.

You really can never go wrong with Romwe. I will say this: if you are ordering, go one size up if you are North American. I find Asian or European based boutiques generally tend to be smaller to size, so that is one thing to keep in mind if you plan on going on a shopping spree!

What do you think of the Spring collection? Which piece is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below…

Corals and Florals

I am so happy that coral is becoming a more popular colour! A few years ago, you couldn’t find coral anywhere! Well now, it’s filling store windows, and I couldn’t be happier because it is such a beautiful colour for the Spring season. I love pairing brights on brights, but what I love even more is incorporating a pattern with a texture.

This look was inspired by my love for coral shades, nudes, and floral patterns. H&M has some amazing pieces right now, including this beautiful coral lace top and this knit coral scarf! Distressed jeans give this cutesy, girly look some edge and finishing off with this nude set of heels and strappy sandals gives the look that extra amount of chic.

Floral Ballet

Can you smell that sweet Spring air yet? I can. The sun, the showers we have been getting, all the green instead of white…it’s all so magnificent! I am so excited to pull out my Spring clothing! All the blush pinks, florals, corals…I’m too excited.

I love a little outfit inspiration on a Thursday, don’t you? This floral, girly look is the perfect outfit to ring in the Spring season with! Tulle skirts are a thing right now and I need to get my hands on one. I particularly love this ice orange tutu because of the faded colour! It’s gorgeous for Spring and really makes the floral pattern in the crop pop!

This Spring is going be filled with floral patterns, light pastels and beautiful colours! Not to mention a little pattern mixing…
