Hi all! I’m Ashley, blogger behind Mommy’s Vanity. I’m thrilled to be guest posting today on Pearls and Polkadots and bring you some Fall makeup and nail colour trends!

Before becoming a stay-at-home Mom, I worked as an Esthetician, so I have a strong passion for all things beauty. I’ve been doing some research to see what kinds of colours are going to be trending this Fall and I’m so ready to dig into those rich, darker colours! Although I love the warm Summer weather, there is just something refreshing about the crisp Fall air, changing leaves and of course switching up my beauty routine to reflect the season.

Here are some of the top colour trends you will see coming up for Fall:

Makeup:

Wine: This is undeniably one of the most popular colours coming up for Fall and rightfully so!  I particularly love this lip colour paired with a simple eye look so the daring lip is the focal point. (Shown:  MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Labradorable & Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Sparkling Blackberry)

Flushed Cheeks: Add a pop of pink on the cheeks to make it look as if you just spent the afternoon on the ski hill! A natural flush is easy to achieve with a powder blush or cheek tint. (Shown: Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Justify my Love & Sephora Colourful Cheek Ink Gel in Peony)

Bronze Glow: A shimmering bronze shadow is proving to be a huge trend this Fall. It can be a fun way to add a little sparkle to your Fall makeup routine! (Shown: Colourpop Cosmetics Eyeshadow in On the Rocks & NARS Velvet Shadow Stick in Oaxaca)

Soft Smoky Eye: This Fall, the traditional smoky eye is a little less dramatic. Using softer browns and grey’s instead of a harsher black can take the smoky eye to a wearable everyday look! (Shown: Urban Decay Smoky Palette & elf Everyday Smoky Palette).

Nails:

Woodsy: One of my personal favourite nail colour trends for this Fall is Earth Tones. Rich chocolate browns and mossy greens will be my go-to polishes this season! (Shown: Zoya Cinnamon & China Glaze Take a Hike).

Metallic Jewels: This trend has been making an appearance for the past few years, and I’m glad it’s back again! Gorgeous jewel tones like vibrant purple and aquamarine, and metallic shades in bronze and silver are showing to be popular. (Shown: Zoya Giada & OPI Venice the Party?)

Sheer: Something a little different this year is a pretty, simple and sheer manicure. These nail strengtheners help protect and strengthen nails while adding just a hint of colour. Available in shades of taupe, nude and porcelain pink. (Shown: Formula X Sheer Strength in Mighty and Powerful)

Blues: Blue is back this Fall in an array of shades! I’ve never been a huge lover of blue, but it’s starting to grow on me! Pale blue, cobalt, indigo and navy are all front runners this year. (Shown: OPI Gelato on my Mind & Essie Bell Bottom Blues).

Wine and Berry: Again, deep reds are showing up in almost every Fall nail polish collection and I love it! Purple-toned and brown-toned reds are seemingly most popular. (Shown: Marc Jacobs Rita & Deborah Lippman Miss Independent).

Which Fall colours do you most look forward to sporting this Fall? Let us know in the comments!

Hi everyone! I’m Adriana from Daily Dose of Design. I live in New York and blog all things fashion, interior design, DIY and lifestyle. I love meeting other bloggers and hope you enjoy this post and my blog!

I love creating mood boards and different categorized designs for rooms to help make decorating easier, especially when picking my wallpaper. Lately I’ve been noticing how in style decorating with gold tones is! Every time I walk into stores like Home Goods or Pier 1, I see tons and tons of gold toned decor and furnishings. Gold is a timeless, metallic color and decorating with it can make a room classy and chic when paired with other matte colors that make the gold pop. Luckily some of these items didn’t have that weird gold issue that require you to use a canister vacuum every time you move it around. If I found a gold mattress, I would love that. But I haven’t just yet. A friend of mine recommended I look into something that felt like gold, which to my surprise was a mattress from a site like https://www.leesa.com/pages/leesa-vs-casper. She spoke highly of one of them and she loves it so much. Some colors that go great with gold are pink, turquoise and black! W

Here’s some gold decor pieces that I’m loving:gold decor

Asymmetrical vases//
Tall gold vases//
Sunburst decor//

These gold decor pieces would pair perfectly with a black and white carpet and matching matte pink decor pieces:

I love the different types of pinks that match gold as shown above! Here’s some more color palettes that I love with gold:

This swatch is my favourite combination! Matte navy and gold compliment each other, while the pink will make the gold accents in the room pop. It would look gorgeous to have a navy couch, gold coffee table and pink accents and pillows in a living room. The list goes on and on and I could search Pinterest for hours straight finding inspiration for this colour combo!

Don’t be afraid to go bold – these colours and different patterns will stand out and make a huge statement!

Choosing a colour scheme for any room in your home can be overwhelming. There are so many choices, designs, colours and choices – so if you’re ever stuck, I highly recommend looking to gold accents to decorate a space with! You can then pick nearly any colour to go with gold and make decorating easy, quick and less of a pain.

Do you have any favorite colors to pair with gold?
