Romping Around

It feels like summer is just zooming by! How is it almost the middle of July!? Although it isn’t my favourite season, summer is such a special season. It’s a time to break out the cute pieces, spend days by the water and feel the wind through your hair! Which is exactly what I did this past weekend in Tobermory, Ontario.

The simpler, the better. Fashion shouldn’t be work. That’s why I will pick a romper over any piece in my closet – especially when I’m feeling extra lazy. I’m just jumping on the romper bandwagon, and this has to be one of my faves.

Just like a dress, it is such an easy item to style. Even more so, it makes for a great summertime look because it takes no thought to make it look amazing! I love printed rompers especially because they’re extra cute and they add detail into your look (which is always nice).

I love supporting Canadian brands, and Du North Designs Ltd. is one of my favourites. They have just recently started adding a lot more items to their website, including printed rompers! Leggings are their specialty, but I have to say, their rompers are cute, in style, and a great price! I definitely recommend giving them a look, because I guarantee that you will find more than one thing you love!

On a separate note, this past weekend, I traveled to Tobermory, Ontario and it opened to my eyes to how beautiful good ole’ Ontario actually is! The further North you travel, the more beautiful it gets. I feel so fortunate to have seen the gorgeous beaches and cliffs of this small little fisher’s town. Definitely a must-see Canadian spot!!

Explore patterned fashion with Du North Designs Ltd. and join me on the romper bandwagon! (Also, this black elephant romper I am wearing now is **on sale** – even better!)

Camo Style

Lately I have really been jumping on the leggings train. I am finding they are the most comfortable option for when you are running errands or lounging around! However, now that we are heading into the brightest season of them all, I am diving into patterns. I like my patterns bright, dark, big, small – really anything that will give my outfits some life.

Although bright floral is the summer go-to…it’s nice to switch it up and take a chance on the darker patterns as well. I have been completely obsessed with camouflage this season!! Camo bodysuits, tights, jackets – you name it, I love it!

Du North Designs is a great online boutique that I love to go to to find unique patterned tights! The variety in what you can get is outstanding, and guaranteed there will be a pair that you fall in love with. These camo leggings are my favourite lounging item right now. Particularly because they are soft, comfortable and a great item to dress up or down.

The great thing about patterned leggings is that you can make them look awesome in an evening look, or a casual look! I decided to go with a more casual look, pairing these leggings with an off the shoulder, over sized, statement tee and chucks. However, I dress these leggings up frequently by pairing them with a dark top and a leather moto jacket!

Du North Designs is always my go-to for getting fun, new patterned things. They ship amazingly quick and are a Canadian company (which I love). I highly recommend heading over to their website to start shopping.

PRETTY GARDEN ESCAPE

Have you ever owned that one piece of clothing that just makes you feel pretty? It could be the simplest of items, but when you put it on you feel like a bright star. In my opinion, your whole wardrobe should make you feel that way! However, having those key staples in your closet, that you know you can throw on and feel like a princess is super important.

Kimono: c/o Pink Blush / Bodysuit: Forever 21 / Shorts: Charlotte Russe / Flip Flops: Old Navy

Summer is a time to get out and experiment with your fashion choices. I mean, you can always experiment (no matter the season), but spring/summer lines are full of unique patterns and prints to play with. My go-to summer pattern is a cute floral (as you can probably tell). I love how girly floral patterns can be, and how well they compliment solids (and even other prints as well!).

This particular pattern is one I fell in love with when I saw it on Pink Blush. I have a tendency to be drawn to wearing darker colours (there is a lot of dark in my wardrobe). When I chose it, I immediately pictured it in a fall ensemble. Therefore, I was a tad worried about how I would fashion it for this season. However, as soon as I unboxed it, I realized this is a total summer staple.

When the light catches this kimono, the reds and pinks are illuminated – almost eliminating the dark tone to it immediately. It’s mesmerizing (in my opinion), when it’s blowing in the wind and catching the sun rays – all the more reason to wear it over and over again.

This kimono speaks for itself. When putting this look together, I focused on pairing with items that elevated the kimono. I went for a light denim short because it doesn’t clash with the colours in the piece. The black bodysuit that I put underneath the kimono was primarily to go with the dark tone (I didn’t know how the reds and pinks would jump out in the light).

I feel pretty in Pink Blush. You should too.

BRIGHT FLORALS

Dressing up is one of my passions. I consider fashion to be such an area of creativity. It’s a way to express how you’re feeling and what you love the most. One of the things that I love most about this time of year is how bright and colourful fashion becomes. The explosions of florals and bright colours are unreal and there is nothing better than throwing them all together in the same look! It is always amazing to find a trendy online boutique where you could find the best outfits.

Dress: c/o Pink Blush / Shoes: Le Chateau / Sunglasses: ILYMIX

With summer quickly approaching, I have been gathering up all of my pretty sundresses and making decisions on which to clear out for good and which to hold on to (I do this every year). I love new things (as most fashionistas do), and since I just had to have this bright floral, it was time to make some room in the closet.

Pink Blush is a trendy online boutique that I came across roughly a year ago. I am never disappointed with the packages that show up on my doorstep from them – especially this dress that arrived last week. Florals are a summer staple for me, and bright florals are even better! What screams summer than an eye-popping colour and big, beautiful flowers?!

Dresses in the summer time are such an easy outfit to coordinate. All I had to do was find the perfect pair of shoes and I was golden. Jewelry is also an option, however with high mock necklines, I tend to steer clear of the bling (also…bling + florals may look a tad busy). You really can’t go wrong with this neckline either. I tend to burn to a crisp in the summertime, so for a day out in the sun, this type of neck keeps my fair skin nice and protected.

I should mention that when you hop over to Pink Blush‘s online boutique, you will see a lot of maternity wear. Don’t be fooled in thinking that it is primarily a maternity boutique – that’s just part of the website. Although the maternity clothing is super, cute, they also have pages of cute clothing for women who are not pregnant (like me).

If you are a highly feminine, pretty, girly girl who loves dainty patterns and vibrant colours – this is definitely the boutique for you. I can never get enough of it (and as a side note: the delivery time is not too shabby for delivering to Canada).

I fell in love with Pink Blush the moment I clicked over, will you?

Running into Summer w/ Skechers

There is nothing that makes me happier than a bright and sunny weekend! After way too many months of winter, it’s about time that the snow melted away and the sun came out to play! This past week has been absolutely gorgeous, and I have been fortunate enough to spend majority of my time outside (bonus!).

Tank Top: Forever 21 / Cropped Leggings: Tuff Athletics / Plaid Shirt: Thrifted / Shoes: c/o Skechers / Hat: Eddie Bauer

I love being active when the good weather comes around. Spending my days in yoga pants and a good pair of runners is heaven because it’s so easy to throw together. Having said that, just because it’s a lazy look, does not mean that you can’t look completely stylish at the same time.

I threw this summer active look together for several purposes – lounging, working out and running long weekend errands. The comfort comes in the simple tank and cropped leggings. However, the style comes in the hat, tied flannel and of course, these new Skechers D’Lites.

Runners are my go-to shoe for the summertime, solely because they are so comfortable and stylish. Summer is a time filled with music festivals, outdoorsy activities, and having fun – and what better shoe to set your feet up with, than these babies. Which is why when the uber-comfortable Skechers D’Lites arrived on my doorstep, I jumped for joy!

Complete with an air-cooled memory foam sole and a slick design in black and white, this shoe is so easy to style and make your best friend this summer. The D’Lites are completely weightless, which makes them a breeze to do any fun summer activity all day in.

From before I can remember, I was sporting Skechers. It is always nice to be able to work with them and share their product! As much as style is so important when choosing a good pair of shoes, you also need to think about the quality. After testing out this newly revamped classic Skechers style, I can assure you that the D’Lites are one pair of shoes that are definitely worth adding to your summer collection.

Keep comfortable this summer!
