I am having such a relaxing week and have really been able to dive into my blog planning! Of course there has been studying and shopping and other fun things, however, getting my future posts in order has been really important! Today, I am bringing another dressy look to you. Dressy is always great, but you don’t have to work a dress to be dressed up…
Shirt: Ralph Lauren (similar here and here) / Blazer: J.Crew Factory (similar here) / Pants: Michael Kors @ Winners (similar here) / Necklace: Unavailable (similar here and here) / Bag: Faux Hermes (real here) / Boots: Mom’s Closet (similar here and here)
Dressy looks are always a winner because you look fabulous and feel great – especially in a little black dress! Wine is my favourite shade of purple. It is the perfect shade for the Fall season. Next to skinny jeans, I looove a nice pair of black pants. Black pants act as a neutral to your outfit in any situation. What a find this blazer was. You gotta love J.Crew Factory, eh? While on my huge outlet haul, I picked up this grey zipper blazer and I am so glad I did. This bag is a faux Hermes bag from Paris. I got it from a consignment shop in my area that I visit all the time and it was a major find!
I am a bit sad that my Fall break is coming to an end – I love being at home and spending time with family. Back to books, lecture halls and cramming for tests last minute! It’s been nice Thanksgiving, see you next year!
Happy Friday lovelies!
The leaves are changing colour right now and I am so grateful because it makes an AMAZING backdrop to some fun new Fall looks! As Fall break continues, it is really hard to focus on my studies – especially when the weather is so great…not to mention cable TV (I don’t have cable at school…)
The little black dress is essential to have in your closet. Even though this is a rather short and summery LBD, the Fall season is not a good enough reason to put this little number into hibernation for the cold season. I try and transition all of my summer dresses as best as I can. Cardigans can be super tricky – the arms are too tight, or the body is too short…well I bring to you the worry-free “Clare Cardigan” by J.Crew (which is my new best friend). It is a great fit and comes in, like, every colour. Pearls are classic in every way and have been around forever. From Audrey Hepburn, to Jackie O, to Kate Middleton, pearls have been worn with class and true style. I adore the colour cognac and even more, I adore these boots. They are probably my favourite pair of boots this Fall season and I never get tired of rocking them with tights, dresses, skirts or pants!
This was a truly “pinspired” look because as I have seen it all over Pinterest. I have definitely put my own spin on it and made it my own (with the pearls, of course!). The pearls, the LBD, the heeled boots…all ingredients for a perfect outfit! I will never get tired of dressing up!
When you have a full week off, you think of fun and crazy things to do, and one of those fun things is a random photo shoot on the back roads. My family loooves going for drives and in the Fall it is such a pretty scenery! So why not snap some outfit details against a beautiful Fall backdrop? I have to say, my sister is a champ…she puts up with so much with my outfit photo shoots, and she does such a spectacular job (love you Heather!!).
It was incredibly windy during the details shoot we did yesterday, and being my creative self, I thought it would be cool to throw leaves in the air for the shot…well, it sort of worked?
Turtleneck: Old Navy (similar here) / Poncho: Winners (similar here) / Flats: Old Navy (similar here and here) / Bag: mark. by Avon (similar here and here)
Heading into the Fall season, I was on the hunt for an olive green poncho. Well this poncho is even better! It has just enough detail in the knit pattern that it becomes the focus of the look, yet it is now overshadowing of any other piece in the outfit! Plus, it kept me very warm on this windy, chilly day. Accenting with leopard print is always a good idea, and with earthy tones especially! This doctor’s bag is from mark. by Avon (a few years ago) and it is just lovely. It is great quality, cute and very functional!
It is starting to look like we will be getting colder and colder weather from this point on, which is awesome for all of my sweaters because they will be worn A LOT more often! I have a bit of an addiction to buying sweaters (especially sweaters from J.Crew)…
Enjoy and have a nice day!
This little horse came right up to my sister and I when we were taking shots and wanted to be in the shot…so we let him! What a nice, little surprise!
