I have had a very exciting weekend, and so excited to share these outfit details with you (I have literally been waiting to share this little number for months…) This past weekend, my eldest cousin got married! Tears were shed (in happiness), a lot of food was eaten, and pictures were taken (oh were they ever!). She made the right decision to hire a photographer who would get pictures like some of the ones below, that’s why it took her ages to get one she liked. It’s important that you look for a photographer, such as this wedding photographer in devon who can not only make the bride and groom look good but who can make all their guests treasure these photos for a lifetime. It’s great because it means you can see just how much of a fantastic time everyone had at your wedding, including yourself! I must say, I always have such a fun time at weddings, because you get to go all out, glam yourself up and dance the night away.
If you have been reading my posts lately, you would know that I am obsessed with the colour mint. I picked eight of my most favourite mint pieces that are out there right now, so make sure you head over and check out my love for this colour here. It is such a fun, summery colour, which is why I chose a mint piece for this classic wedding look.
This is a Calvin Klein dress that I found at The Hudson’s Bay Company. I love everything about this dress, and when I tried it on, I literally fell in love with it. The neckline is perfect (not too high, not too low), the length is beautiful, and how the dress hangs with the slight pleat look to it, made for a very classic and humble look.
I am not too into the skin-tight, bodycon dresses (especially for weddings) only because of the type of body that I have. Being the short gal that I am, I have to be mindful of highlighting the right areas of my body, and bodycon just doesn’t do it for me, personally.
For the past few weeks, I had been struggling on what jewelry to wear with this neckline. I have a double “V” shaped necklace that probably would have gone with dress quite well, but when I tried it on…it didn’t look very right. It was actually my mother who suggested my single strand of pearls (I should have thought of that…) and when I fastened those babies on, the morning of the wedding, it clicked and my worries faded away. The off-white colour of the pearls tied into my clutch and belt…giving the outfit a very complete look. Good choice, Mom!
This clutch was a TOTAL last minute purchase. You know when you tell yourself that you will pick something up…and keep telling yourself you will….and keep telling yourself you will…and then it’s two days before the wedding and OOPS…you completely forgot? Had I not remembered, I would have been sporting a bright green clutch…not so hot. I picked this cute little clutch up at Call it Spring and it was just a dream all night. I love the gold detail and the quilted pattern…adorable! I detailed the contents of my wedding clutch in “What’s in my Bag?: Clutch Edition” which proved to be very useful because I ended up having my clutch packed and ready to go a day in advance (preparation, yay!!).
I seem to always forget to snap pictures of my shoes…which is strange because I love shoes. I got my shoes from Call it Spring (same place as my clutch) in a shade of mint, that matched my dress perfectly. Originally, I was looking for off-white to match the dress, but when I found these beauties, I had to pick them up! I have to admit, committing to them all night long was a task, but pain is beauty, right?
Overall, this is my favourite look. I loved everything about it – the colour scheme, the cute gold buckle on the belt, the clutch, the pearls – everything was perfect and it was such a comfortable dress to wear all night!
Although this is an outfit details post, I wanted to share a few snaps of the beautiful decor at the wedding last night. From the flowers, to the sparkly curtains on the windows…not a detail was missed!
Weddings are always such happy occasion and it was a beautiful day to attend. I wish my cousin and his new wife so much happiness for the future!! I am still drooling over the decor…
