Introducing the Cricut Brightpad GO

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!! I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend, spending quality time with family and eating delicious turkey! I am certainly enjoying the weekend, and the time away from the classroom (for once!). Especially with all of my brand new Cricut toys!

Today, I want to give you a look into a tool that has been very useful for tough and large weeding projects. This lovely tool is called the Cricut Brightpad GO and it is absolutely fantastic! For large or intricate weeding projects, it is super helpful to have light shining through the material you are working on so that you can see exactly what to cut away and what to leave on the sheet.

It is truly a game changer.

For this post, I want to give you a closer look into what the BrightPad GO is, go over some features that make it AWESOME, and show you a cute little (intricate) pumpkin decal I created for this post!

What is the Cricut BrightPad GO?

At first glance, it looks like a tablet! However, the Cricut BrightPad GO is essentially an LED light box that makes it easy to see the cut lines of your project. It makes for simple weeding of various materials – especially vinyl projects!! Like many other light pads, the BrightPad GO makes it easy to see cut lines in tricky materials and uses different brightness levels to adjust to whatever you need to see!

Cordless Convenience

My favourite feature of the BrightPad GO is that it is CORDLESS. Take your weeding and tracing on the go after charging your BrightPad up.

When I say that every detail is illuminated, I really mean every single detail is illuminated when you weed, trace or piece paper together. With five brightness settings of consistent and even LED light, you can get very detailed with your crafting.

The BrightPad GO is 11.5in x 9in – perfect for relaxing in front of the TV, BrightPad and project on lap. You don’t have to worry about it being too big to fit a space, and it is so ultra-slim that it stores away nicely as well! Even better? If you are choosing to work at a table or desk, the nonslip base makes it easy to use on multiple hard surfaces and you don’t have to worry about it slipping around!

I didn’t want to dive into an entire five or six step project for today’s post, but I did want to show you the BrightPad GO in action! For today, here is a little sneak peek into a decal that I snagged from Design Space – I am all about Fall these days (especially on Thanksgiving weekend!), and so I felt the intricate pumpkin decal was appropriate.

After having my Cricut Explore Air 2 cut out the decal using Adhesive Matte Foil, I trimmed down the vinyl to fit the size of my decal, and placed it on the BrightPad GO.

Pressing the power button, and adjusting the brightness level, instantly you can see the cut lines of the decal illuminated – and it is so satisfying! I also should mention that this tool in particular comes in handy for my crafting space because I don’t get a ton of natural or artificial light and so this extra bit of brightness has made it a lot simpler to weed.

That’s really all there is to it. At the simple press of a button,  your cut lines are illuminated and you are ready to pull the excessive material away!

As always, I am always happy to add another Cricut tool to my family and put it to great use! This certainly will make it easier to weed on rainy days!
