I am back with another round up of DIY’s that all revolve around one of my main goals this year: self-care. I find that self-care often gets pushed down to the bottom of my list of priorities, however in 2021…we are taking care of ourselves FIRST! How do you do that? You set yourself up with the essentials.

Now, I find crafting to be a great way to relax (although some of you may not agree). I like pulling everything out, getting messy and taking over the space that I am in. Right now, I don’t have a lot of space to craft in…so taking over is not difficult.

In this post, you will find three fun project ideas that will give you a key and crafty item to use in your self-care routine.

There is nothing like a cool drink to put you into relaxation mode. There are, of course, some notable exceptions, such as CBD products from companies similar to Blessed CBD that tend to offer a higher level of relaxation. But since they aren’t legal everywhere, let’s stick with that cool drink. So why not sip it in style with this cute and summery high ball glass? This cute sunflower is cut so nicely and transferred well to these plastic high ball glasses. All you need is a blank glass, some permanent vinyl, and transfer tape!! Voila!

Here is what you need for this DIY:

Open Cricut Design Space and create a new project. I found a cute sunflower design, with medium detail, and customized it to my liking. You can play around with the different options in design space to design your flower the way you want it. You also have the option to upload your own design. Be aware of the weeding difficulty when selecting a design.

Once you have your sunflower design, it’s time to cut! Size the design to the desired size you want the flower to be on your high ball glass. I estimated based on the size of my glass. Load your material on the standard grip mat (green), liner side down, and insert it into your machine.

When the design is finished cutting, weed the different coloured adhesive on your standard grip mat. Smooth transfer tape on your design and peel it back, pulling the design onto the transfer sheet. Smooth the design onto the surface of the glass, using the transfer tape, and peel away.

I find colouring to be a great way to relax when I feel stressed. When I discovered that I could create my own colouring pages using my Cricut, I was so intrigued. In keeping with the sunflower theme, this custom sunflower colouring page uses Cricut pens to draw just the self-care tool you need to de-compress.

Here is what you need for this DIY:

Open Cricut Design Space and create a new project. Within Design Space, you can search through the images, filtering by “operation type > writing”. Assemble the writing images that you desire into a design, until you are satisfied.

It’s time to draw! Size the design to the size of your cardstock, load your Cricut pen of choice into your machine. Smooth out your cardstock onto a light grip mat (blue) and insert. Now, sit back and watch your colouring sheet be drawn before your eyes! You have a custom, simple and relaxing activity to help you colour your worries away!

Pajamas are probably my favourite way to relax. As soon as I am finished the work day, it is pajamas for me. However, not all of my sets are cute! Since I got my Cricut, customizing cute sets or crewnecks are not a problem! What better way to relax than in a light and adorable PJ set?

Here is what you need for this DIY:

Open Cricut Design Space and create a new project. Import your desired sunflower image (I used the same image that I used for the high ball glasses).

Once you have your sunflower design, and you are ready to cut, prepare your iron-on. I wanted to do a print-style (similar to my “Kissed Crewneck” project for Valentine’s Day). I wanted to place the sunflower designs individually, so I cut the sunflowers by colour. Based on the size of my pajamas, I sized my sunflower to be 3.99“W x 3.88″H which gave me about 24 sunflowers in total.

Weed your design and trim to be individual flowers. Depending on the design you choose, weeding can be difficult or easy! I found my design to be medium difficulty. I always have my essential tools for weeding to make it easier. The weeding tool offered in the Cricut Essential Tools pack is a great tool to use for big weeding projects.

Clear a good space to work on to lay down the pajama set. Heat your EasyPress 2 according to the “Heating Guide“. Depending on your materials that you are working with, the temperature and time will be different.

Now that you have your space prepped, you want to heat your blank up for 5-7 seconds. Place the sunflowers randomly on the pajama set , yellow pieces first. I pressed each sunflower individually due to the size and gave them a long time to cool. Slowly peel away the plastic once cooled.

When you finish placing the yellow pieces of the sunflower, place the black “seed” pieces and repeat Step 4.

Self-care is a huge priority for me this year. I am so happy with how each of my self-care focused items turned out. Plus, this sunflower theme is giving me total summer vibes and makes me excited to use them this season!
