Winter Transition

I would like to say that I am happy that fall is over, because Christmas is right around the corner. However, I am not quite ready to say farewell to my favourite season. We had our first snow fall on Friday, but the snow didn’t stick around. It melted within the same day, and it was back to wet leaves, clearly the end of my beloved fall season. There are no more leaves on the trees, and no snow on the ground…winter transition.

Winter can be hard on some people, the darker nights, bare trees, cloudy nearly every day, but the worst one that we all can basically agree on is the cold. Temperatures can get incredibly low, depending on where you are from, and it can cause many issues for homeowners who are having to keep their homes warm and habitable daily (never mind the fashion, you are layered in blankets and hoodies), that is why it is important for them to look into companies such as Bonded Oil Co. so they can save on their heating oil, or they can speak to HVAC specialists to give their system a tune-up to make sure that money is not being leached out. We all need support and help this winter. So, if you see that your neighbour is struggling with his current heating oil supplier, then perhaps you can lend him a hand to find a reliable Pennsylvania propane supplier or its likes that can deliver the fuel to him on time. Fashion aside, you need to know that everyone is staying safe and warm.

Coat: Fairweather / Top: c/o Zaful / Pants: GAP / Boots: Blundstone

I have been up to my ears in school lately, as I just started my third placement in a Grade 1 classroom – teaching, planning and all of that fun stuff! It’s such a fun end to the first semester, but it makes me realize how quickly this year is passing me by. I mean, Christmas is literally right around the corner!!

For this very long winter transition, it is best to stick to neutrals. I would love to start wearing my Christmas sweaters with snowflake themes, and cozy reindeer patterns…but it just doesn’t feel right without snow. Besides, snow goes best with those types of looks. So, I keep it neutral, and this look is such a styled neutral look.

I love playing with textures, and this textured suede coat is one of my favourites. This beautiful camel-caramel colour goes well with a lot of neutral tones, but what I love doing best is pairing it with a neutral pattern. That’s where this top comes in as the perfect piece to pair with. When I saw this top, I almost instantly added it to my cart. Zaful has come out with such a fashion forward and practical new collection, this top being part of it. It is such a perfect piece and even better, it has a little flare in the tie up side.

Obviously, there are many ways you could dress this top up, but I like it best with a casual look like this one. You could easily switch out the classic black pants with a pair of jeans. Or you could switch the boots out for heels. It depends on how dressed up you want to be. Personally, I live in my black boots (you can get pretty tired of chasing around Grade 1’s in heels).

When you have a neutral top like this featuring a little pattern, the possibilities are endless!

Cheers!
