It has been a great summer so far, and I can’t wait for the last month! Although it will be bitter sweet to see the fall fade in, day by day, I have all of these great memories to look back on! Not to mention, these lovely outfits that I will be looking back on right now. It’s always hard to write these “Looking Back” posts…only because picking four looks is so tough!! How can I only pick four?! This month was full of pastels, nautical themes, and patriotic support during the Pan Am Games! There were stripes, little mini anchors, and maple leafs and I loved every last bit of it!
In the top left hand corner, we have my first fave of the month – an anchor print polo, high waisted sailor shorts, and metallic Sperry topsiders! Of course, we cannot forget the oh-so-necessary multi-strand of J.Crew Factory pearls. This look filled my nautical void and truly kept the summer vibes going on one of the hot July days we have had this month! I am obsessed with anchors, and truly cannot get enough of them. Surprisingly, this tiny anchor print style is not found in many stores (so when I see it…I grab it). I found this on sale at H&M! It is the single and only polo I own (as of right now), which makes it number one in my wardrobe!
About two weeks ago, my cousin got married and this pretty mint dress was my date to the wedding! This beauty by Calvin Klein is probably my favourite dress right now. You all know that I love the colour mint and it was love at first sight when I tried it on at the mall. I paired the dress with white accessories, and a pair of equally as cute shoes from Call it Spring! You can see all of the outfit details here.
It was craziness this past couple of weeks as the Pan American games rolled in and patriotic vibes leaked throughout the city! I couldn’t help but plaster the Canadian flag from head to toe (okay…maybe a slight exaggeration) when I went to cheer Canada on at the Men’s Diving and Men’s Baseball events. Both events made for a great time, and cute Canadian fashion. I kept it super casual in a pair of shorts, a Canadian tee and of course, an equally as cute sweater cardi to match (found in the bottom left hand look). If you want the outfit details, click here.
Keeping with the mint trend, this striped mint and white tweed top was the perfect work piece to keep cool on a hot day. I picked this tweed top at Winners, and it actually goes with a matching tweed skirt (look forward to that). With a pair of navy capris, white pumps, and the classic Kate Spade New York handbag, nothing was keeping me down in this outfit. I really love the colour mint and navy together – it is the perfect colour combo, in my opinion!
That completes my outfit round up for the month!! Looking back is always fun to do, and it shows how trends trickle into your every day style. August is going to be a fun month…there are some interesting things planned for Pearls and Polkadots, so stay tuned!
